Sheikha Fatima hails ability of UAE women to undertake national resposnibilities
HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the UAE General Women's Union has hailed the ability of UAE women, saying they were capable of shouldering national responsibilities entrusted to them by the country's leadership.
In remarks during a meeting with the newly appointed UAE Ambassador to Spain Hassa Al Otaiba, Sheikha Fatima said the UAE leadership was absolutely confident in the ability of UAE women, a confidence exhibited in the appointment of women to top positions, including ministerial and ambassadorial positions.
Hassa Al Otaiba and Sheikha Najla Al Qasimi are the first UAE women to be appointed as Ambassadors.
Al Otaiba will serve as UAE Ambassador to Spain while Sheikha Najla will serve as UAE Ambassador to Sweden.
The meeting was attended by Sheikha Salama bint Hamdan, wife of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan wife of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, and Sheikha Alyazia bint Saif, wife of HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
