Lubna opens calligraphy exhibition
Minister of Foreign Trade Sheikha Lubna Al Qassimi opened the 27th edition of the annual Arabic Calligraphy Exhibition held at the Al Serkal House in Sharjah.
23 artists from the UAE and other Arab countries are particiapting at the event with over 67 calligraphic works.
Following the opening, Sheikha Lubna toured the exhibition where she was briefed the participating works on display.
She said calligraphy is part of the UAE's commitment to promoting Arabic language.
Present at the ceremony were senior officials at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Media and members of the UAE Plastic Arts Society and a crowd of arts and calligraphy enthusiasts.
